A slow website costs you customers. People leave pages that take too long to load, and Google uses page experience, including Core Web Vitals, when it ranks pages. Fortunately, most slow sites can be fixed without starting again.
Test your website first#
Run my free speed and SEO test. It uses Google PageSpeed Insights and shows your mobile and desktop scores, your Core Web Vitals and the top fixes in under a minute.
What I fix#
- Oversized images: compressed, resized and converted to modern formats such as WebP.
- Too many plugins: removed, or replaced with lighter options.
- Heavy themes and page builders: trimmed down, or replaced with a lean build.
- No caching: page and browser caching set up properly.
- Slow scripts: chat widgets, trackers and fonts loaded only when they’re needed.
- Hosting: honest advice on whether your server is the bottleneck.
Core Web Vitals, explained simply#
| Metric | What it measures | Good score |
|---|---|---|
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | How quickly the main content appears | Under 2.5 seconds |
| Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | How quickly the page reacts to taps and clicks | Under 200 milliseconds |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | How much things jump around while the page loads | Under 0.1 |
WordPress speed optimisation#
Most of the slow sites I see run on WordPress. Often, the fastest fix is simply doing less: fewer plugins, smaller images and a theme that loads only what each page needs. When that isn’t enough, a lean rebuild can lift a failing mobile score into the green. See website redesign for how that works.
I’m based in Melbourne, Australia, and I work with clients in Australia, the US, the UK and around the world. Because everything runs through Fiverr, your time zone doesn’t matter: messages, files and payments stay in one place, and payment is only released to me when your order is complete.
Common questions#
Will you change how my site looks?#
No. Speed work happens behind the scenes, so your design and content stay the same, unless we agree to change something.
Why is my mobile score lower than my desktop score?#
Google tests mobile on a slower phone and network, so heavy images and scripts hurt more. That’s why I always optimise for mobile first.
How fast should my website be?#
Aim for a mobile PageSpeed score of 90 or more, and pass all three Core Web Vitals. Your visitors will notice the difference before Google does.
